Timothy Liu’s association with Saturnalia Press goes back more than a decade when Henry Israeli first invited him to work on a collaborative book with an artist; Polytheogamy with Greg Drasler was the result (2009). Since then, two more books have appeared with Saturnalia, Don’t Go Back To Sleep (2015) and Let It Ride (2019). Perhaps this close working friendship is one of the reasons why Henry asked Timothy to expand his role with the press, leaving the author stable to become Editor-in-Chief and Co-Publisher. Liu is the author of nine other books of poems which have garnered honors, including the Norma Farber First Book Award from the Poetry Society of America; a PEN Open Book Award; and a Book-of-the-Year Award from Publishers Weekly. His poems have been translated into more than ten languages, and his journals and papers are archived in the Berg Collection at the New York Public Library. A reader of occult esoterica, he divides his time between Manhattan and Woodstock, NY.
